87 Great Photography Blogs and Feeds
OK, so this may be a bit overkill, but I wanted to share with you some of my photography feeds that I try to keep up with. I'm subscribed to a little over 200 feeds, and just over half of those are about photography.
Below are 87 of the photography blogs I follow, though some more closely than others. So if you're looking for more reading material, I'm sure you can find one or two in this list that suit your needs. I tried categorizing everything, but there are several blogs that cover many topics and I was having a hard time coming up with concise categories. So basically, you'll have to dig around. The blogs I find more interesting are near the top of the list, but it's not an exact ranking of favoritism.
If you're new to feed reading and the world of RSS, take a look at the Problogger's explanation of RSS technology. And before you hit this list, DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE TO MY FEED if you haven't already.
You can also see all of the feeds I subscribe to via my Google Reader shared items for my “Photography” and “Photos” folders (thanks for the idea Bryan). And also many thanks to Alick for putting together an OPML file for those in the list.

UPDATE: I knew this would happen — I forgot one two. Lau reminded me that her site wasn't in the list, and it IS in my feed reader; has been for some time now. Then Chris mentioned his being missing too. So here's the 87th +1 and +2 on the list.

November 7, 2007Thanks for that list, Brian. I think those lists are a great idea, which will force me to come back. I love the idea of adding rss to them, makes browsing a lot easier for the visitor can easily check if there is valuable content in those sources. From a practical standpoint I think it was a good choice not to describe them all.

November 7, 2007Thanks for sharing those links Brian, really good sites (most of them I haven’t vesited before).
Nice new look of your great blog!
Jenni
November 7, 2007Thanks for including me in the list Brian ๐ I definitely need to take a closer look at that list because it seems like you have a lot of links in your list that I don’t have in mine.
Hitesh Sawlani
November 7, 2007Thanks for the inclusion! Good to know I have atleast one reader ๐
I can see a couple of feeds I already check, will checkout the others!
Alick
November 7, 2007I’ve created the OPML for this great links:
https://alick.ru/files/epic.opml
And I have the similar link-list (but there are some russian speaking blogs and sites):

P.S.: sorry for my english

November 7, 2007Hi Brian,
I invite you to check out http://www.digitalprotalk.com – daily updates, packed full of info, and an image a day with background info. Scott Kelby called it one of his top ten “daily must visits.” Take a peek.
Thanks, David Z – fellow blogger

November 7, 2007It is one impressive list!

November 7, 2007What am I doing at no.64? ๐ณ
Thanks a lot Brian, I recognise a few of those names, but I shall enjoy working my way through the list.
Cheers ๐
Brian Auer
November 7, 2007I thought 64 was your favorite number!
Don’t feel too bad — really everything from about 20 or 30 down was kind of a toss-up. I had already put too much time into trying to rank all these, so most of those in the lower list were placed half-randomly. Plus, I tried to put a little more emphasis on the information-type sites, which makes some of the photoblogs drop down a bit.
I hope I’m not hurting anybodies feelings with the placement of links — the intent was really just to share what I’m reading and looking at on a daily basis.
Chris Lodge
November 7, 2007Brian, what I should have said was what am I doing on the list at all?
That’s what I meant, no I’m perfectly happy with no64 ๐
Brian Auer
November 7, 2007LOL — I thought you were giving me a hard time!
Ryan G
November 7, 2007Thanks for the link buddy! Great list here, definitely some news ones for me to check out. I’m liking the new design as well. Keep up the good work!
Jim Goldstein
November 7, 2007Fantastic list Brian. I am incredibly honored to be at #2.
Now to live up to the hype.
Lau
November 7, 2007๐ I didn’t made it in the top 87….
Brian Auer
November 7, 2007I just noticed that too. I don’t know how I missed it, and after writing up all 87 I was having a hard time remembering who I might have forgotten or left out. Thanks for the reminder, I’ll add you as an aside.
Brian Auer
November 7, 2007Lau, I just figured out why I missed your site. I was going off the list in my Google Reader and your site shows up as “Digital Photography T…”, which is short for “Digital Photography Techniques”. The one right above it is also “Digital Photography T…”, which is short for “Digital Photography Tips From The Top Floor”. I must have skimmed right over it.
Vince
November 7, 2007@Alick: Thanks for the OPML file – helped alot when adding the feeds to Google Reader (if you’re like me and can’t be bothered manually adding feeds to your RSS aggregator, most aggregators should support importing – and exporting – OPML files).
Bryan Villarin
November 7, 2007@Brian: Do you use Google Reader? Maybe you can publish your Shared Items feed – I’d subscribe to that in a heartbeat.

November 7, 2007Hi Brian,
Thanks a lot for the plug.
And once again, this post is a great resource to find new “reads” about our favorite subject.

November 7, 2007Thanks for the link, Brian ๐

November 7, 2007Let this be a motivation to get your butt back in the saddle and start posting again. goldengod was one of my favorites to read when you were posting every day.

November 7, 2007Bryan, I’ve updated the post to include my shared feeds. Good idea, thanks.
Thomas L
November 7, 2007That’s is a great list.
Thanks!
Bryan Villarin
November 7, 2007@Brian: Yes! You’re a quick one… =)
James Patterson
November 7, 2007Hey Bryan thanks a lot for the round-up. There are certainly some sites there that I don’t have in my everyday reading. I was noticing that this post really sorta resembles a post from Chase Jarvis’s Blog (he’s on your list) from a few days ago. Any inspiration?
Brian Auer
November 7, 2007No problem, James. I saw Chase’s post the other day where he was asking for new reading material. I guess I may have been slightly influenced due to his question, but this is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now.
Jeff Singer
November 7, 2007You missed the best of them all:

November 7, 2007Thanks so much for including us in your list Brian! We’re almost certainly the new kid on the block over there, but it feels great to be in the company of the other 86 folks listed, some of which are legendary. Now I’ve got to visit the ones I have yet to see!

November 8, 2007Good list, thanks.

November 8, 2007Brian, you just keep doing such great things for the photography blogging community! Thank you so much for listing my blog (and so highly!). Recently my feed stats have been showing 20-30 readers, with the link I got from Strobist last week, that went up to 45, but today, with this story being Dugg, my feedburner readership is 69!
Thank you to everyone who has subscribed to my feed. I promise to do my best to bring you interesting and inspiring content.
Chris Lodge
November 8, 2007Brian, this is incredible: I’ve had triple digit referrals from this post, and my subscriber count has shot up: Are you Digg in disguise? ๐

November 8, 2007I am humbled that you included me. Thanks Brian.
This blog has evolved into being one of the first photography blogs I head to each day. You are a great resource.
Brian Auer
November 8, 2007Thanks Trevor, it’s good to have you as a regular reader and as a friend. We need to get together and go shooting again one of these days.

November 8, 2007Dude, still working on that High Sierras landscape outing. You still in?
Oh, yeah, also you should hit the Olvera Street Photowalk. https://www.photowalking.org/2007/11/06/olvera-street-photowalk/
See you there!
Brian Auer
November 8, 2007I’m still definitely in for the High Sierras trip. I’ll most likely be at Olvera Street too. I look forward to seeing everybody again.

November 9, 2007Of course, as is the case with any list like this, people feel that certain items are missing… That is the case with my comment.
https://www.chromasia.com is my most favorite photoblog out right now. I’d encourage everyone to take a look. David’s work is breathtaking.
