Digital Photo Preservation Tips
The folks at DCViews have posted an article titled “I3A Launches Digital Photo Preservation Website for Consumer and Industry Education“. I've browsed through the site (savemymemories.org) and found that it provides good wholesome advice in the areas of storage, organization, hardware/software, backups, recovery, and more. In an age where digital photography is readily available to much of the population, the tips at this site are key in preserving your data.
Swiss Museum Asking for Photo Contributions
Aimee Baldridge at the Photography Newswire has posted “A Swiss Museum Wants Your Photographs”. It's an exhibition in Switzerland that's going on until May 20th, where anybody may upload their photos to the museum and have them displayed at the exhibit. This is a great event for the unseen photographers of the world — you never know who will be there when your photo and name are presented. I uploaded my first one last night, coming in as the 4008th photo to be submitted. You can upload your photos via the exhibitor's web site.
PDN's World in Focus Contest 2007 Gallery
The Photo District News gives a link out to “PDN's World in Focus Contest 2007 Gallery“. They teamed up with National Geographic Traveler to unearth some of the most amazing photographs from virtually unknown artists around the world. The photo winners are very talented, and the photos themselves have that National Geographic feel to them — very well done.
